1801, Sept 26 -- Wright, Charles, of Byram, Sussex Co.; will of.
Wife, Elizabeth, use of my dwelling house, barn and shop and allmy land (excepting 2 acres); provided she gives my son, Ephraim a home and my 2 daughters a home while they live single. My 2 daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, each a feather bed and furniture, one cow and $25. Grandson, James Bartoe, $25, when 21. Son, Samuel, my wagon, one cow and 2 acres off the southeast corner of my land so as to take in the tan vats and barkhouse. Residue of personal I give to my wife. Son, Ephraim, at his mother's decease, my house, barn, shop and the land, during his life. Should son Ephraim die without issue the land left him is to be sold and divided between my other 3 children, i.e., son, Samuel, 1/2, and daughters, Mary and Elizabeth, and son, Samuel Wright. April 1, 1779 Elizabeth Satterthwaite, b. June 6, 1759; d. Feb 17, 1789. They had issue: Joshua, b. Mar 16, 1780; Sarah, b. Aug 31, 1781; Lucy, b. Mar 24, 1783; Joseph, b. Wife (unnamed), bed, chest of drawers, lookingglass, breakfast table, 2 chairs and a cow; also 40 dollars yearly, while my widow. Son, John, my lot of woodland. Remainder of real and personal estate to be sold and residue divided among my 6 children (unnamed), when of age. Friend Sarah Smith (wife of William Smith), to take charge of my first wife's clothes and divide them among her 4 daughters; also 6 silver tea spoons to be kept for my daughter, Lydia. If my father-in-law, Abraham Miller, pays the money to my estate, the plantation, whereon he now lives for which I hold the deed, is to be deeded to him and his wife, Elizabeth. To Obediah Edridge, 50 shillings. To Charles Burton, 4 dollars for the upkeep of the graves of my family. Daughter, Martha Edward, wearing apparel, bed and bedding; also yearly interest of 1/2 of residue, during the life of her husband; if she should die before him, the principal to be divided among her children. Other half of estate to be divided equally among my grandchildren, i.e., Thomas Edward, Able Edward, More Edward, James More, John More and Thomas More. Executor-friend, Charles Burton. 1805, Feb 5 -- Wright, William, {45125} of Mansfield, Burlington Co.; will of.
Sarah Fisher (daughter of my brother, Abraham Wright), $40. Sister, Ann Scott, all residue of my estate for 20 years, and at end of that time to her son, William Scott. Ann is to pay $50 a year for 20 years to the Christians called Quakers, Baptists, and Methodists, in Burlington eqqually for use of the poor. Executors-sister, Ann Scott, and James Sterling. Witnesses- Samuel Stockton, Abraham Scott, Jonathan Budd. Proved Jan 31, 1810, when Abraham Scott and Ann Scott, his wife, qualify as administrators.

William Wright was reported married 3 mo. 1, 1769 (Burlington M. M. records) to Catharine Ridgway (dau. of Joseph and Hannah (Allen) Ridgway, of Springfield Twsp., Burlington Co)

1807, May 12 -- Wright, Martha, {11114} of Springfield Twsp., Burlington Co.; will of. House and lot in Juliustown to be rented. Son, Samuel Wright and two daughters, Abigail Hazelton and Ruth Wilson, to have said house and lot during their lives, and after their death, same to Barzillai Wright. Martha Reve (daughter of my son-in-law, Samuel Reve), Martha Wilson daughter of Ruth Wilson). Two daughters to have wearing apparel. Executors-son, Samuel, and friend, Caleb Earl. 1808, July 29 -- Wright, Richard, of Woodbridge Twsp., Middlesex Co.; will of.
Wife, Agnes, $500 and the household goods she brought with her at our marriage; also use of homestead containing 70 acres, lying on westerly side of road leading from Amboy to Elizabeth Town; also 5 acres on east side of said road, including the buildings; also salt meadow in Rahway Meadow, as long as she remains my widow, for benefit of herself and my four youngest c No part of said Harriot's legacy is to be paid to her husband, Isaac I. Griffith. Witnesses-Ann Wright, Ichabod Potter. Proved Feb 27, 1809. Children; Christian, Juliet and Caroline. First three are eldest and married. Betsey's portion to be paid to Benjamin A. Brown in trust for her or her heirs. Three youngest are not yet 18. Executors-Andrew Elston of Bridge Town, and son, Thomas Presgrove Wright, and wife, Agnes. Witnesses-Ann Wright, William Harriott and Ichabod Potter.

1808, Sept 19 -- Codicil. Wife is appointed guardian of daughter, Harriot Griffith, and at wife's death, Andrew Elston tosucceed her as guardian until son, Thomas Presgrove, shall arrive at 21. No part of said Harriot's legacy is to be paid to her husband, Isaac I. Griffith. Witnesses-Ann Wright, Ichabod Potter. Proved Feb 27, 1809.
