Leo J. DORNAN

Leo J. Dornan, 78, Rt. 2, died at South Haven Community Hospital yesterday afternoon, May 19, 1971.

He was born Jan. 11, 1893 in Ganges Township, Allegan County. He was married to Frieda Schroeder Oct. 29, 1914 in Allegan. She survives.

He was a member of the Glenn Methodist Church, the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 525 of Glenn and the Lakeshore Rebekah Lodge No. 439 of Glenn. He retired in 1958 from Everett Piano Company. He had lived in the Glenn area all his life.

Survivors in addition to the wife are three sons, Vern J. of Portland, Edward J. of South Haven, Bernard C. of Fennville; two daughters, Mrs. Charlie (Gladys) Ridley, Mrs. Victor (Mary Lou) Ridley, both of South Haven; 13 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Claude of Fennville; and a sister, Mrs. Edith Hamlin of Allegan.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. from the Chappell Funeral Home in Fennville with burial in Taylor Cemetery.

FENNVILLE – Leo J. Dornan, 78, route 2, South Haven, was dead on arrival Wednesday morning in South Haven Community hospital. Mr. Dornan had been ill eight months.

He was born Jan. 11, 1893, in Ganges township, Allegan county, the son of John and Emma Fletcher Dornan.

Mr. Dornan was retires in 1958 from the Everett Piano Company of South Haven. He was a member of the Glenn United Methodist church; IOOF Lodge No. 525; Lakeshore Rebekah Lodge No. 439 all of Glenn.

Surviving are his widow, the former Freida Schroeder, whom he married on Oct. 29, 1914, in Allegan; three sons, Vern J. of Portland, Mich., Edward J. of South Haven and Bernard C. of Fennville; two daughters, Mrs. Charley (Gladys) Ridley and Mrs. Victor (Mary Lou) Ridley, of South haven; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother Claude of Fennville; a sister Mrs. Edith Hamlin of Allegan.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Chappell funeral home, Fennville. Burial will be in Taylor cemetery.
