Dear Don,
Thank you so much for putting this on your web site.   I have had some very exciting developments since we last talked.

I wrote a letter to the address that I found in my grandmother's stuff hoping that her family would still be in the area.   I also posted a message on the National Japanese American Historical Society asking for help with translating.   A wonderful gentleman named Isami Yoshihara came to my assistance.

He was able to find the address in Japan and called the phone number and my grandmother's family still lives there!   They had received my letter but do not read or speak English and were in the process of getting my letter translated.   They are going to look up the "koseki" for both of my grandparents and they also had letters and pictures that my grandmother had sent to them in the years past.   They are going to have the letters translated and then send me, the letters and pictures my grandmother had sent to them.

Grandmother's oldest brother was Ichiro Kawamoto, Sanji Kawamoto (who I sent the letter to) was my grandmother's nephew and son of Ichiro.   Akira Kawamoto is the son of Sanji and my second cousin.   I am anxiously awaiting the information that they will be able to provide.

I will have some things to add to the Kanda Web page soon.   Thank you again for doing this for me.   If you know anyone who is looking for someone to help with translation of Japanese documents let me know and I will see if Isami would be willing to help.   Again, thank you very much,

Shari slkanda214@aol.com
