Medina County, Ohio Our search began when my uncle Hartley Wright who lived across the road from the old Fletcher farm, showed us the book "The 20th Century History of Allegan Co, MI". In the article we found my 3rd great grandfather Aaron Fletcher. Hartley Wright was the great grandson of Aaron Fletcher. Under the name Aaron Fletcher we find: “His first union was with Miss Ann M. Morse, a daughter of Nehemiah and Olive Morse.” So from this article we have Ann Marie's father’s and mother’s name. We also know that Aaron Fletcher married twice: First to Ann Marie Morse and after her death he married her sister Amity C Morse. In a check of the census records for 1850, we found Olive Morse as head of family with a son named Nehemiah. We also found in this family, both Ann Marie and Amity C. As well as other children. The father, Nehemiah was not listed with the family, so he was either away from home, or he had passed away, which would mean before 1850. They could also have been divorced. In the 1880 Census we find the wife of Aaron Fletcher as: Ann Marie [Morse]. She indicates her father was born in Mass, and Mother born in NY. In the 1910 Census we find the wife of Aaron Fletcher as: Amity C. [Morse]. She indicates her father was born in Mass, and Mother born in NY. So now we know Nehemiah Morse was born in Mass. I have recently received the maiden name of Olive. This hasn't as yet been proven, but we will list it shortly to give our readers more information for their research. I have checked the Ohio, Mass and NY census records but Nehemiah Morse could not be found. We are also checking into the connection of Isaac Morse of Crystal, MI. We have his census records for 1860 and 1880. There is some confusion with these two census Records which we will present in the next day or two. I am looking for Nehemiah and Isaac and any information you or anyone may have on him. I did find a Nehemiah in the 1840 census, but was not sure if it was the same one I am looking for. For the record, I am descended from Aaron Fletcher and Ann Marie Morse. The article from the History Book as well as census records and all other information will in time be added to this Web Page.
