Medina County, Ohio and Allegan Co, MI Our search began for Isaac Morse when we found the following information on the death certificate of Marie Ann (Morse) Fletcher. Record Book of Deaths of Allegan County and Death Certificate issued by Allegan County,
MI, lists her death as follows:
The Death Certificate is on file, and indicates her date of birth as My uncle Hartley Wright review the death certificate and the first thing he said was
that Isaac was not her father, but possibly her brother, from Crystal, and when looking
at the Census Records, I agree. Hartley who lived across the road from the old
Fletcher farm, showed us the book "The 20th Century History of Allegan Co, MI".
In the book we found the history of my great grandfather Aaron Fletcher, written by
Aaron himself. Hartley Wright was a great grandson of Aaron Fletcher.
Under the name Aaron Fletcher we find: “His first union was with Miss Ann M. Morse, a
daughter of Nehemiah and Olive Morse.” So from this
article we have Ann Marie's father’s and mother’s name.
We are also checking into the connection of Isaac Morse of Crystal, MI. We
have located his census records for 1850 (the same county as his mother), 1860 and
1880 (in a county close to his sister Ann Marie [Morse] Fletcher). There are
some diferences with the dates of birth on these census Records.
In the 1860 records above, you will note that Isaac has a son named Lemuel, and
this son is living next door to him in the 1880 records. We could not find their
records for 1870. Notice that Isaac has a different wife listed in 1880.
We are not sure if it is the same person or not as their dates of birth are different.
I have on hand a copy of the death certificate of Ann Marie (Morse) Fletcher.
For the record, I am descended from Aaron Fletcher and Ann Marie Morse.
I am looking for Nehemiah and Isaac and any information you or anyone may have on him.
I did find a Nehemiah (the father) in the 1840 census, but was not sure if it was
the same one I am looking for.
