I would like to submit the following information from the family Bible of Andrew Jackson
McCarty and family who lived in Edgefield County, South Carolina and then moved to Lee
County, Mississippi. The Bible was in the possession of Andrew McCarty's grandaughter, Lola
Gibson of Haileyville, Oklahoma (she is now deceased). She copied the information for me and
sent it to me several years ago. I am the grgrandaughter of Andrew J. McCarty. You have my

After reading the Bible Record I came away a little confused. In looking at it closely, it looks as
though the family is actually as follows:
Andrew Jackson McCarty, - born March 18, 1815 - died January
2, 1893.
Andrew married first, on 1 Nov 1835, Henna Rita Mariah, who
died 9 Feb 1848, - Their children were as follows:
- Mary Magdaleen, - born June 12, 1837 - died August 6, 1853
- Dennis McCarty, born November 30, 1845, Married Miss Susan Abney October 28, 1849
Andrew married second [aft 9 Feb 1848] - Susannah Pope McCarty
who died December 30, 1896, Children of this marriage:
