I don't know if our Drakes are connected. I am searching for Hartwell Drake, born ca 1796, in North Carolina, I think his father was Benjamin Drake and his grandmother was Hartwell Drake, who married a James Drake. James Drake married Sophia Valentine, his will is dated July 9 1791 in Richmond Va..then had an unsigned will in Nash Co North Carolina. I think (female) Hartwell was born about 1727 in Isle of Wight Vva and died around 1796, when my Hartwell (if he is my Hartwell (male) was born.
