I have what I believe to be 3 Wright brothers who settled early, 1839,in North
Mississippi.
The first is:

He married abt 1824, probably in TN, Sarah G Mitchell,
Born 10 Nov 1806 Tn, Died 6 Nov 1855 Their Children were:

- James H Wright; born 1849, MS
- Green Wright, born 1850 Ms; died 4 Feb 1873.
- Robert A Wright, born 1852, Ms; married Mollie Elizabeth ______; born
22 Sep 1856 Ms; died 1 Apr 1920; buried Longtown Cem, Panola Co, Ms. Their
children were:
- a. Virginia T Wright, born 1876, Ms
- b. Afton E Wright, born 1878 Ms
- Lenville? August Wright, born 1855 Ms
- William L Wright, born 1865 Ms
- Janie Wright, born 1867 Ms
John Wiley's son, Green Washington Wright, left a family bible which named a John W.
Wright born 1762, died April 30, 1833. It did not state this was his grandfather but I
believe possibly it was. It also named a Milley Mithcell born 1785, died Nov 13, 1847
this is thought to be his grandmother Mitchell.
Early deeds and facts seem to connect the three Wrights, such as John Wiley's wife,
Sarah went to Panola County to live with Newton Barton Wright for a while after her
husband's death. The 1839 land deed where John Wiley purchased his first land in
Marshall County from John Mitchell was witnessed by James L. Wright. Newton Barton
Wright and a Massey Wright buy slaves from James L Wright. In the 1850 and 1860 DeSoto
County, Ms census this Massey Wright is found living with James L. Wright. She is a
female born 1768 in NC and died Jan 14, 1864. She is buried in Palestine Cem in Tate
Co, Ms along with James L. and his family. She is believed to be the mother of these
Wright brothers along with the John W. Wright born 1762 as her husband.
The 1830 Madison Co, Tn census has a John W. Wright family which appears to match John
Wiley's family along with a Francis and William Wright.
