My Brush With History
Personal Histories during Historical Times

During our lifetimes, there have been many historical events that have taken place across this nation and around the world. Some were important events, and others not so important, many unknown to others. In some cases, the event may not be of importance to anyone other than the writer, but does help us understand their history and how they lived it. We call these "My Brush with History".

The following are small stories that took place during these events. Stories of what they went through and how they felt. Each of us has at sometime or another in our own history been involved in an event of this type..

Speaking of earthquakes, America has had earthquakes more powerful than the San Francisco Quakes. The greatest series of earthquakes in U.S. history was in 1811. We have seen articles written at the time, and I have been told of a letter written by a person that was there at the time. If anyone has such information, we would be more than happy to publish them here. The 1811 Earthquake covered a large area of the American Wilderness.
